The morning briefing is quite a disappointment. The weather and snow conditions offer no possibilities on skis. Fog, rain… The group takes a long walk to the Bürgenstock to contemplate the impressive views of the Lucerne lake. In the afternoon it was decided to transfer in the van to the following pre-scheduled overnight destination – the Pilgerhaus Maria-Rickenbach in Niederrickenbach.
This tiny hamlet accessible only by a small cable car in the winter months should have been accessed by ski and departed from on skis – only there is no snow in sight at that altitude. An evening hike to discover the views, and a delicious and charming dinner later, the group heads to bed praying for better weather conditions the following day.
